HOW TO FIND TOTAL, AVERAGE, HIGHEST VALUE AND LOWEST VALUE OF NUMBERS IN A RANGE WITH MS-EXCEL

HOW TO FIND TOTAL
Total: in excel, TOTAL formula is used to add values that are more than two; for example, if you want to add all the values in a range or set (ie values in a column or row) to determine the total we use the formula called "SUM".
To find total, use the formula =SUM(first cell to last cell) enter.
Where: "SUM" is the summation sign
"first cell" - is the cell address of the first value in the range.
"To" - is usually represented with column ":"
"Last cell" - the cell address of the last value in the range.
Eg. =SUM(A1:A8) enter.

HOW TO FIND AVERAGE
Average: average is the addition of all or some values in a range or set (ie column or row) and then dividing the total by the number of items contained in the range or set. However, Excel always perform this task within a second when once the formula is type correctly.
The formula for finding AVERAGE is thus: eg =AVERAGE(C2:C5)

HOW TO FIND HIGHEST VALUE
Highest value formula is usually used to determine the biggest value in a range of values. That is, when once the fformula is entered, you are giving the computer program a query to find the biggest number and display it for you to see. The formula for finding highest value is thie: =MAX(first cell address to last cell address) press enter.
Eg =MAX(E4:E10)
MAX - is an abbreviation for maximum.

HOW TO FIND THE LOWEST VALUE
Lowest value is the opposite of highest value. The formula is used to determine the smallest value in a range. The formula is thus: =MIN(first cell to last cell address) press enter.
NOTE: MIN is also an abbreviation for Minimum
Eg =MIN(B3:B10) enter.
